And the winner is Christina, Assorted Notions! Congratulations!

I am so happy to hear from so many new readers, and thank you everyone for your encouraging comments on the Balmain jacket.

I am going to NYC in February so I hope to have the jacket finished by then. There won't be any sewing going on during my stay of nearly 2 months, but maybe I'll write a few posts about the experience of MDQ on Broadway. If you happen to walk by the Nederlander Theater and have a camera ready, I'd love to see the outside- I heard the poster is already up :))

And there will be many more giveaways. It's a very selfish thing; I love them. It's wonderful to share with people who understand and appreciate the same things I do :)) I'd love to hear what's on top of your wish list. I'll do another Kai giveaway for sure, but what else would you just love to have?

  1. Thank you Birgitte, this is so exciting!

  2. A Simflex expanding sewing gauge! I often need one and I can't find it online in the US or Ebay with reasonable int. shipping.

  3. Please shoot me an email if you'd like to get together while you're in NYC. I know you're going to be crazy busy and I'll be in Florida for part of that time, but it would be great if we can make it work. Maybe some of the other locals can join us.

  4. Well, I just think it is fun that you are doing any type of giveaway this often!! I must say that I bought some Kai scissors and think they are the most amazing scissors I have ever owned. I told the ladies at a local fabric store about them as they hacked their way through some knit fabric I was buying. I wonder if they actually looked into them?

  5. If you have too many of your marvelous magnifying glasses, my eyes would surely appreciate such! Do have fun in NYC!

  6. Two months in NYC? I can see some serious fabric shopping happening. Good luck in NY and please show us "Balmain" when it is ready.

  7. I love my Kai scissors, too. I've had them for almost 20 years and the only thing they need is the occasional professional sharpening.

But, if you do another giveaway, how about the magnifiers that you wear? Or placing a group order to save on shipping. Because I NEED one.

  8. I wasn't too sure if you needed to post here as well to be included in your magnigier give-away. I have told my husband I need one of these, eyes are not what the use to be and I have difficulty threading a needle even with cheaters on! Ha ha ha. Just wanted to say your blog is great...I was looking for info on constructing a Chanel jacket and see you've made several and they have turned out beautifully!! I am in the process of starting mine...in the muslin stage at the moment. You have some great pictures and information that will be most helpful during my construction. As to future give-aways...Flex-A-Shape Design Curve or a Styling Design Ruler might be a good thing.
